What is Your Why?

Submitted by eapullin on

When it comes to our patients, how we deliver care is just as important as the care itself. Every interaction, every word, every moment of presence and every act of compassion shapes how our patients feel. It’s not just about medical treatment—it’s the entire experience we create.

Returning to our “why” we chose healthcare can help us be more intentional in the way we connect with our patients, and being intentional creates trust that lasts far beyond our patients’ visit.

Care That Connects Us

Carilion Proud Week is May 10 – 16, a special time of celebrating and recognizing you—the heart of care our community counts on.

You prepare. You adapt. You step in when needed. You make breakthroughs in the lab and at the bedside. From one shift to the next, you check in, hand off, and follow through—showing up for one another and for our patients.

Your dedication carries our work forward—into the lives of the people we serve. Let's celebrate that!

Team members stopped by throughout the day to take part in donor‑honoring art activities, learn more about organ donation, and participate in a hospital‑wide moment of silence at 11 a.m.

Clinical Teams: Check Elsevier Clinical Skills for Your Annual Assignments

Submitted by aerose on

Effective May 1, annual assignments started appearing in clinical learners' Elsevier Clinical Skills accounts. They should be completed according to standard annual requirements.

There was a delay in building and assigning annual validations this year due to system downtime during the transition to Elsevier Clinical Skills. This pause was intentional to allow for system stabilization.
