The scene resembled the aftermath of an emergency.

First responders navigated rugged terrain. Rope rescue teams moved carefully down a more than 100-foot outcropping. Patients—portrayed by high-fidelity manikins—were assessed, stabilized, and prepared for transport.

Behind it all was our Center for Simulation, Research and Patient Safety.

Through real-world projects and collaboration with experienced teams, student interns gain valuable skills, fresh perspectives, and confidence that will serve them throughout their careers. In turn, they inject renewed energy into our organization that encourages innovation and promotes a culture of learning and growth—contributions that not only meet immediate staffing needs but also lay the groundwork for a strong and capable workforce in the years ahead.

As we continue to focus on the health and well-being of our workforce, we want to recognize those who are examples in our workplace during our third annual Well-being Hero Awards.

The 4 Disciplines of Execution: Revised and Updated: Achieving Your Wildly Important Goals (2nd Edition) by Chris McChesney, Sean Cove and Jim Huling.  (updated 2022 / post-COVID)

This is an updated edition of a classic book on strategy execution.  While this book is not specific to hospitals and healthcare, it is referenced in many other healthcare leadership books.  The basic premise – how do we turn strategy into results.

At CRMH's Level 1 Trauma Center, we witness firsthand the impact of organ donation during life’s most critical moments. Our commitment extends beyond emergency care to educating donors and their families and fostering thoughtful conversations that support informed decisions about organ donation.

This dedication was recognized in 2024, when LifeNet Health recognized CRMH for “Most Lives Saved Through Deceased Organ Donation.” 

UPDATED: This week, we welcomed a new class of summer interns—92 of them in all at various points in their educational journeys. Some are in high school, the majority completing their undergraduate degrees, and even a few who just graduated a week or two ago. All of them are committed to learning and helping.

What is a Requisition?

A requisition is how you request goods or services before they are purchased. Most purchases require a Purchase Order (PO). When you submit a requisition, you are asking for approval to purchase goods or services before they are ordered.

Remember: The PO should be created before ordering or receiving items – not after an invoice arrives.
