VIDEO: Former Radford Soccer Coach Shares Knee Replacement Story

Submitted by sereid on

Tom Lillard began his Radford University career as a student athlete, then became a soccer coach. Recently, sports-related injuries led to severe arthritis—which made it impossible for him to climb the stadium steps at the field named after him.

“Getting in and out of the car was difficult. Routine. Swimming, going to the beach. Walking in sand. Playing with my grandson. Those were things that were really, painful,” says Tom.

Tom turned to Ryan Harris, DO, and his team at CNRV for a knee replacement.

"The chemistry among the Carilion team was outstanding," Tom said. "Everything from the nurses, the doctors, the preop, all the procedural paperwork you go through, everybody was on the same page. Whether it was receptionist to Dr. Harris, everybody treated me like an individual and felt like my case was the most important. So, I couldn't be happier."

Learn more about Tom's journey in the video above, and share it with your family and friends who may benefit from it.
