Exciting things are happening in Epic!

SlicerDicer Tool Available in Epic Beginning Friday, Feb. 9 

SlicerDicer is a powerful analytics tool that transforms Epic data into visual elements such as maps and graphs. It can help you analyze trends, explore large quantities of data, find patients for research studies and more.

On Friday, Feb. 9, the following SlicerDicer data models will be available to most Epic users at Carilion:

Along with several expansion and renovation projects underway and planned for the next few years, we also continue to evaluate the condition of some of our older buildings to determine whether they will be able to meet our organization’s future needs. 

As a result, we will soon begin demolition of the following vacant buildings located near CRCH along the South Jefferson corridor:

Registration is now open for our 17th annual Research Day!

Please register by March 31 to attend and learn more about our various research projects and numerous goals for improving patient care.

This year's Research Day will be held Tuesday, April 9 at CRMH's 6th floor Auditorium.

Residents, fellows, faculty, staff and medical students with be there to share insights about how the projects were developed.

We Had Over 9,200 Great Catches!

Every employee has the opportunity to identify unsafe conditions (circumstances where safety in health care delivery can be improved) and near misses (unsafe situations that are caught before they reach the patient) by placing a SafeWatch Event Report or calling 7-SAFE (77233).

Thanks to all our SafeWatch reporters in 2023, we had 9,200 Great Catches or Unsafe Conditions reports that led to system-based improvements. This makes over 6,000 Great Catches for the fifth consecutive year!
