Today I saw Becca go above and beyond in caring for a senior patient. She noticed he was not with his attendant and the patient was confused. Becca stayed with the patient and placed many calls to his facility and helped arrange for him to have a meal and get his ride to come pick him up. 

Thank you Amanda Procaccio for being a great preceptor, Im a brand new CMA and she was very patient and helpful in her teachings of helping not only navigate a whole different career field but helping me build my confidence in making sure i was successful.

I what to share some well-deserved compliments for our team. James is always patient first. We love having him as part of our 10 South family.

WOW received from a fellow co-worker for Brook Brown:

"There was a couple from Patrick County who could not find a ride home after being transported by squad.  The couple absolutely could not find a ride home after hours of asking passerby folks for a ride.  Brook happened to know that Uber is available on Friday, Saturday, and Sunday in this area. (New info for me!)  She called Uber and paid for the couple's ride home herself."

I want to shout out a big WOW to Janelle Marshall in the lobby pharmacy. I recently changed my name as I have gotten married, and apparently because of that it has been a major cause of confusion. I have been trying to get prescriptions filled over the past few months from 3 of my doctors and it has taken about a week and a lot of frustration for each separate prescription to be filled. Janelle has been such a great help each and every time I had an issue. She is a wonderful, caring person. She is such a valuable asset for Carilion!!

Donna Edwards, RCS, sonographer at Carilion Clinic Cardiology is very compassionate with her patients.  Many patients are very nervous about having echocardiograms done.  Donna takes her patients feelings/emotions at heart.

Frequently her patients tell us she was wonderful and made them feel very comfortable during the procedure.  Donna is also a great "Team" Player!  Thank you Donna :)

Sherry Hartsel, Jennifer Evans, Leslie Wyatt, and Cara Basham from the Oncology department at CRMH volunteered at the Feeding Southwest Virginia Salem Distribution Center. Together, they inspected donations for quality assurance, loaded multiple pallets for the warehouse, and had a blast serving our community!

The purpose of the BEE award here at Carilion Clinic is to recognize and celebrate the hard work of our loyal and committed ancillary staff.  Linda Dawson, a Patient Care Technician, exhibits these qualities in performing her job every day here at CRMH!
