I just recently started a new position at Rehab 5. And have also been training on Rehab 3 as well.. I have never met more caring people who wanna see you succeed at your job!! Everyone makes you feel like your part of the team instantly! I already feel like I am at home!! THANKS REHAB 3 & 5 YOU GUYS ARE THE ABSOLUTE BEST!! Lauren Bradley, a Clinical Associate on 8 Mountain ICU, recently went above and beyond for a patient. While in the hospital, this patients wife passed away on Hospice. Unfortunately, the patient was critically ill and could not leave the ICU to attend his wife's funeral. Lauren became very close to this patient and his family, and felt like there was more that she could do for them. Lauren worked diligently with TSG to assist this patient in being able to see his wife's service.

The mission team for my church Faith Fellowship, decided on March 27th that we were going to make bears for the students of the school we will be visiting in Jamaica.  That only left us 10 days to get the material cut out, bears stuffed and sewn.  I asked my awesome coworker Joy Cundiff who is great at sewing if she'd be interested.  She of course said YES!  She completed this task for us with a smile on her face as you can see in the picture.  What an awesome thing to do for people she doesn't even know and won't get to meet.  All she asked was that I get pict

Kimberly Johnson, Administrative Assistant in the Congestive Heart Failure Clinic, went above and beyond to help a stranger in need.  She was doing her usual daily duties when a distraught gentleman came into the office asking for assistance.  He handed her a piece of paper with an explanation of the assistance that he needed - rescheduling an appointment/medical test (as he spoke very little English).  Kimberly went out of her way to help him (even though he was not a patient in the clinic).  She faxed paper work for him and called the medical office to reschedule his a

Amy was truly a wonderful nurse for me during my stay,. I was here for almost 6 days and she went above and beyond to make my stay as comfortable as possible. Her caring demeanor was given to not only me but my roommates as well. You could tell that she loves her job and truly cares for each of her patients.

While sitting on 7 West, I had the pleasure of meeting Ed Mata RN. He has been here with Carilion for three weeks.. in those three weeks I can tell you he has become an asset to this hospital. This nurse is one of the kindest, most compassionate nurses I have met. He truly cares about his patients and their outcomes. While dealing with a severely depressed patient who didn't seem to trust medical staff, Ed sat down with this patient and made him feel completely comfortable. This helped really get to the root of the issues, and gave us a stepping stone to help this patient get well.

My husband was at CCRMH and our young daughter visited us.  It was late when she left - after 8:30pm on a Monday night.  She couldn't find her car but 2 Carilion Police officers saw her looking for it and offered to help her.  They stayed with her until she found it and had safely entered her car.  I appreciate their thoughtfulness and caring to help protect our daughter.  She didn't get their badge numbers or names but I wanted to applaud their due diligence in helping others.  Thank you for helping and protecting our visitors, family and community.

Dr. Sarah Stubbs has the compassion, courage, commitment, and curiosity that shine out as a respected and valuable member of her home town community as well as our Carilion commUNITY.  

To make a long story short, my 94 year old Mother became easily upset and adamant that she would not go outside our home for any reason.  I had called all but one family medicine practice in Roanoke and nearby locations. None would accept my Mom for a home visit.
