From Virginia Tech:

With the approval of more than 200 spectators, representatives from Virginia Tech, Carilion Clinic, Roanoke, and the Commonwealth of Virginia ceremonially opened the Fralin Biomedical Research Institute at VTC Addition on Tuesday.

Guests earlier had settled beneath a tent on the Riverside Circle to hear remarks before touring the state-of-the-art research facilities and meeting scientists who work there. The $90-million, 139,000-square-foot expansion enables the institute to double its workforce by 2027.

In Memory of Those We've Lost Throughout the Pandemic

Submitted by tcholland on

It has been a hard month for our Carilion family.

We have been faced with the tragic loss of five of our colleagues due to illness in just the last four weeks. The recent deaths of our dedicated and precious colleagues come as we enter our 20th month of this pandemic. The losses that you, your teams and your families have felt during this time hurt.  We have a shared grief from which we will surely recover, but we acknowledge these nearly two years and unfathomable pain have taken a toil we will never forget.

Will You Give to This Year's You & I Campaign?

Submitted by tcholland on

The annual employee campaign, You & I, has returned this month.

This campaign raises funds for the Carilion Clinic Foundation, and every dollar donated goes to helping patients, colleagues and community members who need it.

The You & I Campaign begins on Oct. 1 and runs through Oct. 31. The Foundation is again providing T-shirts for anyone who donates just a few dollars per month. The shirts will be a different color than last year’s shirts, so make sure to donate and receive your shirt while supplies last!
