Debbie Shaw was diagnosed with aggressive breast cancer in December. With support from her cancer care team at Carilion, she stayed active through treatment and came away with a deeper appreciation for life.

As part of our third annual Well-being Week in June, we selected our 2025 Well-Being Hero Award winners—individuals and teams who have gone above and beyond to promote health, wellness and a culture of care in our workplace.

We’re finalizing plans to open our first freestanding Emergency Departments in Smith Mountain Lake’s Westlake area and in the Daleville Town Center area, providing advanced care close to home. 

The facilities will help us provide 24/7/365 advanced emergency medicine services to patients throughout Franklin County, Botetourt County and beyond in convenient locations. They’ll join the growing array of patient services we offer in those areas, including Carilion Children’s, VelocityCare, family medicine, imaging and more. 

We know you’re busy and don’t want to spend a lot of time worrying about your medications.

Carilion Clinic Pharmacy offers multiple, convenient prescription refill options.

As a benefit to our OB patients, we are providing them with access to the Baby360 Maternity App (YoMingo). There is no cost for our OB patients. The app will replace printed patient education materials previously used by the OB team and is available in 18 languages.

Food Delivery Drop-Off Location

A convenient food delivery drop-off location is available for our CRMH and Crystal Spring Tower teams. If you order food or grocery delivery, you must have it dropped off or meet your delivery driver (e.g. Door Dash, Uber Eats, Dominos, etc.) in the Emergency Department garage (behind the Higher Grounds Coffee Shop).

Tis the season when school supplies are on display in nearly every store. This is a great time to pick up a few extras and bring them to Carilion Children's Tanglewood now through Thursday, July 31.

We have updated our policy related to managing prior authorizations for elective surgical and diagnostic services. We want to make sure that clinicians and patients know when a procedure has not been authorized by the patient’s insurance provider and that there is a process in place to determine next steps.

Update Aug. 26: We’re preparing for CRMH renovations that will impact portions of the hospital lobby at various times. From now through Sept. 5, please follow the posted signs and any instructions from our Guest Services and Police/Security staff to help you navigate.
