Neurosurgeon Helps Employee Reclaim Health

When Elizabeth Lindsey, support supervisor in Neurosurgery, noticed changes in her vision, she never expected the cause to be a pituitary tumor. 

Dr. John Jane Jr. joined Carilion shortly after Elizabeth's diagnosis and brought his unique expertise in pituitary tumors to her care.

In this video, Elizabeth shares her story and describes how Dr. Jane "wants [his patients] to get just as good of care as he would care for his own family."

Updates to Our Roanoke City Public Schools Partnership

After careful consideration, we made the decision to discontinue our oversight of school-based nursing for Roanoke City Public Schools (RCPS). We are committed to improving community health. This was the only school district where Carilion managed school-based nursing, and this decision allows us to focus on improving access to pediatric services across our entire region.

The Deadline for Shine Awards Submissions is Monday, July 7

The Shine Awards recognize people and teams who have made exceptional contributions to Carilion. Between Monday, May 26 and Monday, July 7 we will accept applications for the Quality Awards and nominations for the Values Awards, Medical Excellence Awards, Spark Award and Nancy Howell Agee Award for Distinguished Service.  

Award winners and finalists will be announced at the Shine awards ceremony on Monday, Nov. 10.
