The Rehab Building lobby is especially welcoming AND SAFE thanks to our "screener" - Mr. Derrick McCloe.  I observed Derrick jump to the assistance of an elderly gentleman entering our lobby staggering a bit - out of breath and struggling with his balance.  Derrick very calmly came up alongside this gentleman and helped escort him safely to the closest chair in the lobby.  A fall averted, a welcome extended - Derrick makes those of us at Carilion proud to work alongside him!!!

 A patient with a sticky situation called us seeking help to establish care, Lauren B. went above and beyond to make sure that the patient was taken care of and to make sure that she felt safe coming to our office. Lauren even took the time to seek out our Care Coordinator to give out resources the patient may need. Laruen even made it a point to be present for the patients appointment to make the patient feel as comfortable as she could with the background that she has. We are beyond lucky to have Lauren as a team member!!

 A patient's family member recently applauded the Guest Services parking team for their outstanding service. The note stated, "Thank you all for your respect, kindness, and good work for taking care of me when I need my car parked.  You all work hard and do a fantastic job!  You parked my car without hesitation and I am always appreciative! "

A big thank you to the personal touch that was added to one of our patient rooms upon being cleaned today by Mike. I am sure that the next patient will appreciate and enjoy it just as much as us staff members loved to see that special touch.

The students at Southern Virginia University delivered these poster boards today.  Each note on the board is a note of appreciation written by a student.  Many of these students (and/or their friends and family) have had experiences at CRBH during the pandemic.  They wanted to express their heartfelt thanks.  The boards are on display in the Ground Floor atrium.

A pt requested that Emergency Department Patient Liaison Andrea H. be acknowledged for the care and attention she provided to his family while he was here. He stated that she was warm and understanding and compassionate to His Wife and wanted her to be recognized for it.

We are appreciative of the continued support for the Legacy Shawl Project in Palliative at CRMH.  These shawls / lap blankets are for the patients and families in the Palliative unit at CRMH.  We recently received an assortment of beautiful shawls / lap blankets knitted and crocheted by members of our community.  We are so thankful that members we serve as a healthcare system give back to us in this way.  It was a privilege giving these colorful creations to our patients in Palliative.  The appreciation of our families for these donated offerings was heartwarming.&n

My dad was a patient on COVID floor at RMH. He wanted to let them know how much he appreciated the care that he received there. He especially wanted to thank one of the nurses named Brittany. He talked about how she was one of the sweetest nurses he has ever had. As his daughter, I also wanted to thank everyone on that floor that took good care of him. Thank you so much to my Carilion family!
