Shout out to Sandy Hammock LPN at Carilion Southeast for going above and beyond for helping a patient, over the phone, through a mental health crisis. Sandy did a great job of distracting the patient from their troubles until a resolution was found. Sandy was very, very compassionate and is a model Carilion Employee. 

The morning of April 15th, I woke up to go to work and realized my tire was low. Woke my husband up and he put air in it so that I could get to work on time. Around lunch time, I went back outside to check on it, and it was completely flat! I was in the process of calling my husband to let him know he was going to have to come get me when I heard some guys screaming "We're on the way!" I turned around and two maintenance guys were walking toward me with a tire plugger kit and an air tank. They were on the way to fix my flat tire without even knowing whose vehicle it was.

  After 42 years of law enforcement I guess you could say that I have seen a lot of bad things.  I've witnessed humanity at its worst and thankfully, helped to protect innocent people when they needed it most.  Occasionally, I get to see a good deed that would otherwise go unnoticed, a small gesture, in a world that is all too hectic and busy to get involved most of the time.  This morning, as I was driving into work at RMH, I noticed a young lady at the bus stop in front of the Sheetz on Williamson Road while stopped at the traffic light.  It was obvious to me that

I would like to say that the St. Albans Staff Rock. They show Compassion for their patients and Treat their Coworkers like Family. They are Always Willing to help when ever its needed and always have each others Backs.

     There is no other Staff I would want to work with than the GROUP of Amazing people we have here at ST. Albans

I can't say thanks enough to the guys and gals over at the infusion center at RMH! My mom had a great experience during her blood transfusion yesterday. The staff was friendly and helpful from start to finnish and they made my mom so comfortable through everything! It was truly inspirational seeing you all at work! Thank you so much!!!

For many years, my family has used the Velocity Care in Daleville for our urgencies that are not emergencies (frequent flyers with two younger kids).  They have always provided my family with the most professional and outstanding customer service.  Since Covid has changed how they do their daily work, from registering patients from the parking lot to the Covid protocol in caring for patients, every encounter with this incredible group has been top notch.

Since its launch last May, the Code Lavender team has responded to and delivered 132 Code Lavender bags to frontline caregivers. The program’s growth reflects the importance of prioritizing caring for our caregivers and teams.

Thank you to our Chaplaincy and Nursing teams including Andrew Tressler and Suzanne Bowser who have taken the lead to implement this program at Carilion!
