Bryce is a very kind, knowledgeable, attentive person. He makes you feel comfortable with his smile and positive vibes. Bryce makes sure all of the patients and people that are with the patient are as comfortable and well taken care of as they can be. I have never met an employee more caring than Bryce. Congratulations Bryce!

CLABSI FREE FOR A YEAR

Submitted by srulm on

The last couple of Fridays we have been celebrating units that have been CLABSI free for 1 year or longer.

CLABSIs financial cost per patient is about $48000. Patients will have a longer hospital stay, increased morbidity and mortality. Being CLABSI free for our patients means they are able do the things that brings meaning to their lives, more quality time with their families and doing the things they enjoy!

Administrative Professionals Day at Carilion OB/GYN

Submitted by ammelendez on

I'll like to recognize my Carilion Clinic OB/GYN at Jefferson & Highland Dept., Healthcare Administrative Assistants for the work they do every day. It's hard to choose 1 Carilion Value as they all applied to them, but I had chosen Commitment because these ladies are here every single day with a positive attitude and great personality. Clarissa, Shameka, Kylie, Jamey, Maria, Maegan, Malisa, Shauna, and Margarita is the Medical Interpreter, but she is part of the team as we all work together. Thank you, ladies for all you, we appreciate you all every single day.

National Healthcare Decisions Day Employee Event

Submitted by wmdavis on

The Advance Care Planning Council would like to give recognition to the members of the group who helped organize the National Healthcare Decisions Day Event on April 16th and 17th, 2024.

We were able to spread awareness about Advance Directives and Advance Care Planning to employees at nine different locations throughout the system.

We distributed 200 advance directives and had meaningful conversations with various employees, students, and patients.

This event would not have been possible without the team's support.
