A patient came into the ED with pelvic pain. Study images were obtained but the reading was not clear. Dr Wentworth recognized the need for further images and Kaitlyn returned to the ED to obtain the additional sonogram images. This patient had a good outcome due to the attention to detail by Dr Wenworth, the Radiology technicians and Kaitlyn. Excellent teamwork!

Great Catch to the CNRV Team!

Rockbridge ICU has been Healthcare-Associated Infection Free for 3 years! They have been Central Line Associated Infection free 4 years, Catheter Associated Urinary Tract Infection free 7 years, Hospital Onset C. diff free 5 years, and MRSA free 3 years. The ICU didn't get here by chance it happened because of intentional care. Every patient, every central line, every Foley, every hand hygiene, every moment mattered. I'm proud of this team. Let's keep this momentum going.

Sami Dale with the PACU team is being awarded for Daisy of the Year for CNRV. A patient’s family member stated that her husband was seen in the ER for a piece of steak lodged in his throat. The patient ended up requiring endoscopy for the removal. Due to the family childcare needs, the wife was unable to stay with him for the duration of the procedure. The family reports that Sami had provided nursing care for the patient during pre-op, OR and recovery.
