A Voice of Care and Comfort

Submitted by crbooth1 on

Lindsey Rutrough, RN is one of our phone triage nurses for the general pediatric clinics. She received the following recognition from Dr. Kryder and a patient's family in the Botetourt office.

"I want to share with everyone a family's appreciation for Lindsey.  I saw a baby on Monday or Tuesday who was 2 days old and not feeding great.  I arranged to see them back in 48 hours. They got home and baby would not eat.  They called and spoke with Lindsey and she talked them through it and they started pumping and supplementing.   This was great because mom had not come to the appointment and they are first time parents.  Lindsey called them back at the end of the day to follow up and the baby was more awake and eating much better.

The family was so very appreciative and she really helped panicking first parents and likely further dehydration in that new baby.

Thank you to Lindsey for taking such good care of our families.  I am sure this happens all the time behind the scenes and we never even know it!"
