The Outpatient Department at CGCH received 100% score on Press Ganey survey results for willingness to recommend the facility for the month of August.  This department consistently sets the bar high for the highest patient experience scores.  We are so proud of this team and the care they provide to our patients and community every day!

In honor of their efforts, pizza was provided to the staff.

I want to take this time to recognize our units and associated staff who are diligently and through many challenges trying to impact our falls rates. The fall prevention committee meets on a monthly  basis to discuss our rates; current and compare them to the same point in time last year. We try to discover trends and best practice for prevention. While we would like zero falls, zero major injuries is the ultimate goal of which we accomplished in August.

We have outstanding teams and they are doing some great work. Here is a synopsis:

GREAT CATCH!

Submitted by legourley on

Alison Gergely, RN had a great catch with an outpatient in PACU and a prescription. A physician had written a prescription to be sent home with a patient for "Aspirin 650mg every 4hours for pain" and Alison quickly realized this was a mistake and could be harmful. She contacted the physician and had the prescription cancelled before the patient left the hospital after surgery. Thanks Alison for looking out for our patient's safety and recognizing potential errors. Great awareness and great catch!

Stacey Carter - CA

Stacey has adjusted her schedule to come in really early (0300, not an easy out of bed time) several days the past week while we have staff out sick. Really appreciate her positive attitude and willingness to change schedules to meet patient needs.
