I just want to recognize these co-workers for their Commitment and Compassion. Dori Beth Hayslett and Kimberly Griggs show their love for their patients and dedication to their profession on a daily basis. Even when things get tough these girls never drop the ball. They love their patients, understand their concerns and go out of their way to make them comfortable and at ease. They make sure their work gets done correctly no matter what and I feel they both deserve a "shout out" for a job well done!

Jennifer Roope  is hands down a wonder woman at the front desk. She manages to get the calls done , patients checked in and future patients called for reminders , while also handling so many other tasks that are needed by the Pediatric Pulmonary group. All of us would be lost without her knowledge and help  

Melila Hunter is a huge asset to the pediatric specialty clinics, she is always there to help keep the flow going in any clinic she is at and also does an amazing job helping other clinics even if stationed at a different clinic for the day. Is quick to answer questions and a shoulder to lean on if need to talk .

Sara helped me out for the last 2 days when I was the only tech on the unit. She got my vitals and did my checks for me without being asked. She also cleaned some of my areas for me while I was doing checks and getting snacks for the patients. She always has a smile on her face and is always willing to help no matter what is happening. I really enjoy working with her and I'm very thankful to have her on our team here at St.Albans.

We received a patient for functional rehab at our facility .  This am patient was hypotensive and had trouble keeping O2 sat up.  Dr. Gomez in to see patient.  Patient was transferred to SCU, where he was placed on Levophed drip.  Patient had also complained of severe abdominal pain on right lower quatrant.  Dr. Gomez ordered CT of Pelvis, where it was discovered that he had a perferation.  Dr. Gomez contacted CRMH where patient was flown for probable surgery.

Big WOW and shout to Gwen Southers in Occupational Medicine!  Gwen daily recognizes every staff member, arranges department celebrations for birthdays, weddings or just increasing morale during stressful times.  Our department has recently gone through multiple staffing changes and Gwen stepped up to orient co-workers, take multiple calls/scheduling concerns and familiarize new Providers with work flow.  Gwen is patient, caring, and committed to Carilion values!
