Excellent followup!

On 10/30/22 we had a ESRD patient coming to the dialysis unit for an marked decrease in their sodium level. A repeat lab was drawn at the beginning of dialysis to verify result and when the results were completed the sodium was unchanged but there was a critical change in this patient's potassium levels. Sarah Allen RN and Kim Crigger RN had Respiratory bring an IStat down to perform a lab at the bedside. The results were low.  If they had treated the critical high it would have been detrimental to the patient. This was a great catch!

We wanted to recognize Tyschana Turnage for the excellent job she is doing in Endoscopy. She has kept up with our supply, which we know can be difficult because of how much supplies we need. It's important to us to keep our stock so we can better help our patients, and she helps us by keeping us in check. We appreciate how hard she works for our department and her always willingness to help.
