Margaret Perry Wins TEACH Educator Mentorship Award
Margaret Perry has been an outstanding example of the Education Mentorship award in the many years that she has worked as a Clinical Educator for the Human Resource Education & Organizational Development department at Carilion Clinic. Her commitment and passion to helping grow new educators from novice to expert is a characteristic that I have long admired and model my personal growth after. She has worked with numerous nursing and allied health professionals to guide, develop, and provide assistance in the evolution of education modalities used in the organization. She has mentored many MSN students formally, while also informally advising her peers and colleagues. She is always available to for a lending hand or open ears and provides sound advice for those considering an education career pathway. She can provide constructive feedback and follows-up with her mentees to ensure their success. I can think of no other educational leader in our organization that has impacted healthcare education of nursing staff in the last 10 years more than Margaret Perry.
