Submitted by aabriggs on

After some steep competition over the last 6 months, CNRV's Surgical Care Unit was the first unit to reach 100% compliance with our CHG bathing policy for central lines. Their dedication to improving this metric month over month, ultimately reaching 100% compliance in October, was recognized today with a party and the first ever awarding of the Golden Bathtub. Infection Control is grateful for Tara Croy and her team's commitment to quality care and infection prevention.

Happy Radiology Technologist Week Nov 7-11

Submitted by ssfranklin on

The Imaging Team at Carilion are very committed and hard working people. You may think that once the test is done that is all, but behind the scenes the technologists are still working with the images for at least another 10-15 minutes. In some cases, it can take up to 45 minutes to do all the recons needed for that test. One of my instructors at school once told me that imaging was an art and a science. Trying to get the best images for the exam can be very tricky when your patient may not be able to hold still or are in certain equipment for their medical needs.

Submitted by plmyers on

Last week we announced plans to relocate Carilion Psychiatry and Behavioral Medicine outpatient services to Tanglewood Mall by the fall of 2023. Robert Trestman, M.D., chair, spoke with local media about upcoming plans. Thanks to everyone who has made it happen including the Center for Healthy Aging and all of the providers and care team members who serve our community from this location. Join us in watching this 37,000 square foot space transform into a modern mental health care facility over the next year.
