Kim Gonce has been a tremendous help with the Adjunctive Therapy Team at inpatient mental health. Kim helped create and post two new positions, each with a full-time and a flex option.  Kim has been such a big support with creating these new positions as well as bringing great new Carilion staff on board.  I am so grateful!

RN on 8W was pulling medications for her patient from the Pyxis and found that the medication stocked in the bin was the wrong dose and she notified pharmacy.  Medication should have been Ampicillin 2gm but the bin was stocked with Ampicillin sulbactam 3gm.  Fortunately the RN checked the medication, as well as the label, to ensure her patient would receive the right dose.  Great job Kris!

Pediatric Physical Therapy Rockstars

Submitted by mrlittle on

Tanglewood Pediatric Physical Therapy went above and beyond to provide excellent and timely care for our patient here in genetics. Our patient's family drove over two hours to come to our office. We were informed that our petite child was having considerable pain after sitting in her car seat after an hour. During her genetic's appointment, I walked down to the PT department and was greeted by a smiling face...Lucinda Kasey! She quickly got on the phone and made several calls to relay our concerns.

"Karen went above and beyond to make sure I was comfortable and well cared for. She welcomed me into the unit with a smile and cheerfully answered my questions and reassured me throughout my stay. She advocated for me to make sure my pain and transition home after surgery was as easy as possible.
