The R.N. Career Advancement Program (CAP) assists registered nurses in their personal and career development through excellence in practice. It provides recognition for R.N.s who contribute to certain activities, projects and committees, and the professional practice model REACH: research, education, advocacy, clinical and human touch.

You can sign up by Dec. 1 to declare your intent to participate in the 2020 program.

From the mid 1950s to the mid 1960s, the hospital continued to grow and prosper, increasing its capacity to 65 beds.

During 1964, the heating and cooling system was completed along with a new roof and paved parking lot.

The Our CommUNITY Campaign, our annual campaign for the Carilion Clinic Foundation and United Way, kicked off on Oct. 1 and runs through Oct. 31.

You can give to the Carilion Clinic Foundation, United Way or both. You can designate specific funds or agencies you wish to support.

Today we announced that we have leased 150,000 square feet of space at Tanglewood Mall in Roanoke County. The space will become home to outpatient practices of Carilion Children’s and may house other clinical services in the future as well.

It became increasingly difficult for Franklin Memorial Hospital (FMH) to adequately meet the health needs of the citizens of Franklin County; after a 13-year relationship with Roanoke Hospital Association, the hospital became a full affiliate of the association (by then called Carilion Health System) in 1988.

While it became a part of Carilion Health System (CHS), the hospital remained a not-for-profit, community-owned facility that was governed by its local board.
