Mark your calendars for October for the annual Carilion Cares, I Care campaign! As employees, you are invited to support the programs and departments that mean the most to you. What began as support for the Employee Emergency Fund has grown to benefit over 60 Foundation funds supporting our patients, hospitals, and employees.

Beginning Wednesday, Sept. 2, when you visit Inside Carilion you will see a new log-in screen (shown below). 

When you click the log-in button, you will need to log in to your Carilion Microsoft account using your Carilion Active Directory (AD) email address and password. The password is the same one you already use for Inside Carilion and other Carilion apps such as Epic.

If you've been on the Roanoke campus lately, you've noticed the Carilion Taubman Cancer Center as the tallest building in the Riverside complex now. Take a look at the recent time-lapse video showcasing the remarkable progress of construction from March through July 2026. The footage highlights the rapid evolution of the site with a major construction milestone reached this month. The final beam was hoisted to the top of the facility, marking the topping out of the building.

Don’t wait until the last minute to get your required flu vaccine! The earlier you get it, the sooner you will be protected.

Getting vaccinated is the best way to protect yourself from getting sick. While you can still get the flu after getting vaccinated, you are less likely to get severely ill. It can also reduce the risk of hospitalization. 

The UKG Mobile home screen has a new look designed to make common tasks easier to find and navigate. 

The updated home screen includes a personalized greeting, a Coming Up quick-action section, and quick summary cards. It also provides a cleaner layout and faster access to common tasks.

Artificial intelligence is becoming part of everyday work across Carilion Clinic. Our teams are are using AI to explore ideas, improve efficiency, and reduce repetitive work. As these capabilities grow, it is important that we use them securely, responsibly, and in accordance with Carilion’s AI governance and related privacy and security requirements.

For generations, the Mill Mountain Star has been a symbol of home for people across the Roanoke Valley. This year, the Kiwanis Club of Roanoke temporarily renamed the star to honor Nancy Howell Agee, CEO Emeritus of Carilion Clinic.

The recognition is part of the Kiwanis Club's annual Star of the Year tradition, which began in 2021. Each year, the organization temporarily renames the Mill Mountain Star in honor of an individual or organization while raising funds for Kiwanis programs supporting children, older adults and the environment.
