Maintaining Big Hearts

Submitted by tlgraham on

The Maintenance Dept at Carilion Franklin Memorial Hospital does an amazing job keeping our parking lots and sidewalks cleared and safe for our employees and visitors usually while we are still safe and snug in our warm beds on weekends and nights.

However, this team goes above and beyond that. They look for ways others may need help they can assist.

Berglund Vaccination Clinic

Submitted by fdthompson on

Just a quick thank you to all who were part of the vaccination clinic held at the Berglund Center this weekend. What a great job everyone did - from parking assistance, to registration, administration and recovery area. My parents, who are in the mid and upper 80’s, were both fortunate enough to get registered for Saturday, and were very complimentary of everyone they interacted with. They were thrilled! A big thank you to everyone who planned and participated in making their  visit such an exceptional experience. Made me proud to be a Carilion employee.

Wonderful Care

In Early December I was Hospitalized with Covid-19 for 10 days. I wanted to thank all of the caregivers that were part of the team during my stay in the hospital. It was a trying time. My health has recovered to the point that I no longer need any oxygen, I have returned to work and I am walking some after work. Someday in the future I hope to be able return to running 5k's and Half Marathons. For now I am excited to be walking and working.

There were a number of people that I wanted to recognize because I felt that the care they gave went over and above.

Commitment to Care

Hats off to the ICU nurses at Carilion New River Valley Medical Center who took such good care of my husband last week.  He was in 1509 and bragged to me each time telling me how good he was being treated.  From the time I walked him to the ED door and left him there I heard nothing but good comments.  I cannot thank each of you enough for the care, explanations and the comfort you provided to him.  Thank you so much to Kim Goad after she saw him and called me.  We saw compassion in our Carilion team from start to finish.

Helping Hand

Amelia Hughes has been a rockstar these past few days working in our clinic at Peds Endocrinology. Despite being the only nurse in the office the past few days, Amelia has been more than willing to lend a hand whenever possible or necessary and hasn't been afraid at all to do the extra thing to help out. Thanks Amelia!!

Very Friend group of folks

On Friday January 8th 2021. I had to have a CT Scan @ RMH. A very nice lady by the name of Leslie spoke to me while I was in he waiting room. She said " I love what you have on" I thought that was the nicest thing  someone to could say in passing. It gets better. Mackezie D and Megan P did a wonderful job with dealing with my small rolling  Veins.  They were patient and kind. Another lady game me a warm blanket  because  it's so cold in there. This was of the BEST EXPERIENCE I have had with this department.

Thank you ALL.
