Happy Carilion Proud Week from all of us here at RSFM!!

Guest Services aims to serve and enhance experiences. Melanie Thompson demonstrated this by offering to pet-sit a visitor's pet, which was not allowed in the unit due to the patient's condition, so the visitor could see their loved one. Thank you, Melanie, for your compassion and dedication to serving others. 

Chanin built a solid rapport with a patient who had experienced significant challenges the day prior. She was able to provide the patient support that resulted in the patient voluntarily meeting with the doctor to discuss their treatment, something the patient had previously refused to do. This kind act helped the patient make a positive choice in their treatment, which would extend into positive effects in their life outside of the hospital. Her dedication to the wellbeing of her patients is undeniable and we are truly lucky to have her as an advocate for the youth in our community.

I want to send a shout-out to Annette Parker at CCHC for going the extra mile to get a patient in quickly even though scheduling was challenging. Our patients appreciate the extraordinary care you provide <3.

Going into my procedure I was extremely nervous, nearly in tears. After voicing my concerns to Jane, she remained by my side throughout my entire LP, holding my hand, ensuring my pain was tolerable and having general conversation to keep my mind occupied. As a nurse myself I found my care to be extraordinary. Jane is an asset to Carilion and truly made my experience better.

I am pleased to share that Carilion Clinic Home Care has received the gold level designation as Best Home Health Care by the Roanoker Magazine.  I'm incredibly proud of the individuals and teams that extend care into the homes of our patients in the communities we serve.  They do so on a daily basis with courage, commitment and compassion.  This distinction is reflective of their hard work and dedication.  Another reason to be Carilion Proud.......
