Recently, Carilion Family Medicine in Waynesboro lost one of our beloved nurses, Amy Herring.  In honor of her service, commitment, and compassion to the office and our patients, we have dedicated our bulletin board to her.  Those that knew Amy and/or had a positive experience with her are encouraged to post a sticky note with a comment on the board in memory of her. We are deeply saddened by her loss and miss her smiling face at the office every day. 

I just wanted to give a wow to the pharmacist at Riverside 3 pharmacy. I was having a bad asthma flare up and went to pick up medication to help with it. I felt so bad when I got to the pharmacy I didn't have enough breath to walk in and get it. I called and Tia was kind enough to walk it out to my car for me.  Now that is Carilion Compassion!  She is always so pleasant and helpful when I go to that pharmacy. She does an outstanding job and as a fellow Carillion employee I really appreciate her compassion and how she always goes the extra mile.

 On Thursday we had Debby come thru and with her a lot of rain came too. Jerry drives the golf cart for  Guest services at CFMH and all day long he got people to and from their cars. Not only did he kept them dry but the seats in the golf cart for them dry as well. Patients were grateful because when you don't feel good the last thing you want is to be soaked from head to toe with rain. Thank you so much Jerry for the caring attitude! 

Last Friday a lost, rain-soaked, shoeless boy was found by a citizen in the middle of Elm Avenue and brought to Occupational Health at CRCH for help.  Carilion Police & Security were notified and Police officer Pamela Norman, and Security officers Gary Newcomb and Ken Ross responded.  They began trying to locate the child's parents while trying to comfort him as well.  All three officers spoke to him with such compassion and showed genuine concern for his well-being.  I was so glad to witness this great act of kindness and am incredibly proud of the officers and how

I was sitting in the cafeteria by myself at a table one day and a gentleman came and sat with me.  He told me that his brother had been in a motorcycle accident and had been in ICU for over a week.  He said that he was very impressed with the care his brother was receiving.  He noted that everyone was friendly, helpful and truly committed to doing a good job.  He said that every time staff entered the room, they would ask his brother, "How can I help you?"  and would go out of their way to do whatever was needed.  He stated that he was glad his brother was in t

I would like to extend a heartfelt appreciation to Claire Demma, RN, for her extraordinary compassion and dedication to our patients and their families here at CRBH. Recently, the daughters of one of our hospice patients shared a touching story that highlights Claire's exceptional care.

Things are "BUZZING" at Outpatient Physical Therapy (RAC) on Starkey Road. Four employees were nominated for the BEE Award ( Be Exceptional Every day). The nominees were: Scott Sutphin, OT (left); Geraldo Lugo, HAA (middle), Jennifer Amiot, PTA, (right), and Chuck Easter, RA (not pictured).
