Carmilla Tyree go above and beyond to help a family with a patient needing to be seen by a Cardiologist! She's kind, punctual, professional and precise. She saved my family member's life by making provisions for him to be seen asap. Had my family member not been able to be seen, he would not be here. Kudo's to Carmilla for a job well done and most of all saving my family members life!
Lora Davidson is the Daisy Award Winner at CNRV for the quarter ending July 2024. We apologize for the late recognition, but wanted to be sure to congratulate Lora for the efforts she puts forth every time she works. Her patients shared about their experiences during stays on the Birthplace at CNRV. Lora received 3 nominations for this time period. Congratulations again Lora for a well deserved award.
Robin Stanley, RN BSN, was recently honored with the Daisy Award for Extraordinary Nurses at CTCH. Robin is a nurse in the ED at CTCH and was nominated by Katie Paitsel, ED Unit Director.

My Mother passed aways from colon cancer 9/6/24, prior to her death Michelle Duncan went above and beyond to comfort my entire family. She was very gentle, kind and thoughtful, She spoke with the family like they were her own. Very compassionate and caring. Even spent time with us when she was off the clock, to help up through this awful time in our lives. Such a kind spirit and wonderful soul.
On November 6th, these CNRV nursing colleagues, provided leadership participating in a Nightingale Tribute for a nurse who recently passed away. The Roanoke Valley Nightingale Tribute provided the overall coordination, guidance, and leadership for this meaningful remembrance. A special thanks to these nurses, The Roanoke Valley Nightingale Tribute, and all of those who attended.

One of our young patients, who has a deep admiration for law enforcement, had a special encounter with Carilion Police Officer David Stultz that left a lasting impact on both. The officer took the time to share insights about what we do in law enforcement and the lives we get to help protect and serve every day. It was a heartwarming moment that brought smiles to everyone involved.
As many of you are aware, Western NC has been devastated by recent hurricane Helene. Many families and individuals have lost everything. The area is not suspected to have clean drinking water until mid- late December. Many are without food, clothing, heat, clean water, and basic necessities.
Ms.Anna was caring for two patients I was watching on telesitting and did an amazing job with them. One patient was upset because it was her birthday and family kept calling her to wish her a happy birthday and it made her emotional Anna went above and beyond to make the patient feel special and important. I had another patient move from the ED up to 12W and again Anna was in the room laughing and joking with the patient and making the patient feel important. WAY TO GO ANNA!
I want to acknowledge two of my amazing co-workers that went above and beyond for a patient that we obtained a MRI on from the Rehab. Megan Kern and Breanna McKinnell ensured that their patient receive EVERYTHING they needed in order to complete a very important MRI. They were extremely patient, caring, and kind. Our imaging nurses, Nareesa, Amy, and Maddy were also an integral part in delivering exceptional patient care. Due to their compassion and understanding the patient was able to obtain their MRI without having to go back to the Rehab and be rescheduled for the MRI.
