Teamwork at OBGYN

Stephanie Masters current PGY-3 went above and beyond with a patient today. With an already busy patient load she went out of her way to counsel and talk with a patient regarding treatment options that would best benefit her without being asked. We love you!

Meeting Patient Need

On 12/10/24, Belinda Ashby, PharmD, received a call from a patient while working in her role as a pharmacist at Carilion Clinic Pharmacy-New River Valley.  For various reasons, this patient was needing a specific medication within a very short time and wanted to be as discreet as possible even to the extent of not wanting to divulge contact information.  Belinda patiently listened to the patient's request and went to work to be accommodating.

Provider Enrollment CARES

Submitted by adroberts1 on

Carilion's Provider Enrollment Team decided to do a holiday drive to create care kits for unhoused individuals this year.  First, the team collected donations of snacks, personal care items, and items to help keep warm such as hats, gloves, scarves and socks. Then, the team hand wrote notes offering encouragement. Today the team assembled 10 care bags to distribute. Grateful to be a part of a team who decided to serve their community this holiday season!

Best Team Ever

wow I work with the best Team Ever.  I had a stress day yesterday, my house flooded, and I come we was talking about our day. I told them how a pipe busted and flooded my whole living area. They asked if I have renter insurance, and I said no. They were like what can we do to help you? From Dr Khalique to all the other nurses in the nurse station.  They really made my day knowing I'm working with a group of people who care about each other. Rheumatology Rock. Noani, Destini, Kristen. Thank you for being great.

I would like to give a shout out to my co-worker Lauren Prince in Pediatric Cardiology.   We have a little fellow that comes from Martinsville that has been a very sick one.  Lauren found out that he loves Strawberry Ice Cream, and she will run over to Kroger's to get a box when she knows he is coming to our clinic.  He was here again today, and she went looking for his ice cream!  Does my heart good to see that sweet smile on his face when he steps in here to get his ice cream.  Sometimes it's just the little things we do for our patients that touches the hear
