Here is what Lisa's Patient had to say about her:
Lisa treated my husband with extra care while doing all she could to make him as comfortable as possible. He had not received his normal medication and had a headache. Not only did Lisa immediately seek authorization from the doctor to administer medication but also placed a wet cloth on his forehead. Since the cafeteria was close on Saturday, she insisted on sharing hlf her lunch with me. Her kindness and generosity were overwhelming.
I want to give Stephanie Witt on 12 West a big shout out! She provides all her patients with excellent care. She tackles multiple tasks with ease, and on top of that she has such a pleasant demeanor. Thanks again, Stephanie!
On June 2, 2025, Rebecca Forrest, a TSG Mobile Device Specialist, witnessed a serious accident involving a motorcycle and a vehicle while stopped at a red light in Daleville.
Certified in CPR, Rebecca immediately sprang into action, collaborating with another Good Samaritan to administer life-saving CPR to the motorcyclist, who had no pulse. Their quick and coordinated efforts sustained the victim until emergency responders arrived.
Chelsey Davidson, RN, BBA, was recently honored with the DAISY Award for Extraordinary Nurses at CTCH. Chelsey is a nurse in the ED at CTCH and was nominated by a patient’s family member who wrote this:

On occasion I have observed Brandon Proffit (from Physical Therapy) assisting patients with their therapy. Today I was working security on 9 Mountain. Brandon was on the floor assisting several different patients. He was very professional. He spoke to the patients with ease. He took his time with each one. They all seemed very comfortable with him. Brandon showed real compassion. If I ever need therapy, I hope I get Brandon to help me. Keep up the amazing job Brandon.
The Ortho Activities Committee (OAC) strives to participate in one community service activity each month. Last week, they set up a Missing Man table in the lobby at The Institute for Orthopaedics and Neurosciences (ION) on Franklin Road in honor of Memorial Day. The Missing Man Table, also known as the “Fallen Comrade Table,” is meant to remind viewers of those fallen, missing, or imprisoned U.S. Military Service Members. Each element on the Missing Man Table embodies the deep emotions and sentiments held for those who never returned.
Heather was nominated by her peers for demonstrating Carilion’s Compassion Value. Her peers described Heather as a compassionate nurse who goes above and beyond for her patients. She takes extra time to truly get to know each individual and understand their unique needs. Her deep investment in their care doesn’t go unnoticed—many patients specifically ask for her and even stop by just to say hello, long after their treatment has ended. Her genuine kindness and dedication make her a trusted and beloved presence.
A patient wanted several providers to know they appreciated the care he received and the compassion they showed along with some humor to make his ER visit a good visit.
