It was all celebrations last Monday on 7 Mountain PCU for being the highest Patient Experience HCAHPS scoring unit in cleanliness.

Carilion Roanoke Memorial Hospital earns its 2nd ENERGY STAR certification; Outperforms similar U.S. buildings on measure of energy efficiency

Carilion Roanoke Memorial Hospital has earned the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency’s (EPA) ENERGY STAR® certification for superior energy performance. This is the 2nd year that Memorial has earned the ENERGY STAR, reflecting a legacy of continued energy savings.

Our physician magazine, Carilion Medicine, was honored a second consecutive year in the Folio awards, the magazine industry’s most prestigious awards program.  This time, we received an honorable mention for our Special Report on Health Behaviors in our Fall 2018/Winter 2019 issue. Our earlier award recognized our Fall 2017 issue on Rural Medicine.

CRMH Endoscopy frequently have patients that live hours away and need to return in 24 to 48 hours to bring back their PH box equipment. CNRV Endoscopy recently came to aid of one of our pediatric patients by allowing the family to drop the PH box off with them and then making sure it was sent on to RMH to be downloaded. This really saves the families time and mileage! Thank you

The Cardiac Rehabilitation Team has been celebrating Cardiac Rehab Week with giveaways for the patients along with healthy snacks for the staff this week. What a great week to celebrate a healthy diet and exercise!! Our recognition committee has done a great job in planning events each day for the staff and patients.

Just wanted to give thumbs up to Leah Dunn and the team in OR department for speedy turnovers today even while teaching new nurse.

On Friday January 17th-maintenance had to perform work on the water system and the entire building was without water while this work was being completed. The staff working that day went above and beyond to ensure the patients had access to fresh water for the duration and they made sure staff had access to hand washing stations to continue to provide safe care. This is just one of many ways that our team provides excellent patient care while also looking out for each other. Thank you all!!!
