Time is Brain!  1.9 Million neurons are lost per minute during a stroke.  Time lost is brain lost.

Every month we celebrate the team that has the fastest times for our Door-to-Needle/60 minutes or less, and Door-to-Puncture/90 minutes or less.  These are Joint Commission time measurements for our Stroke center.  In October, we had 2 groups that were amazing.  We wanted to celebrate both teams for their accomplishments.

Josh Goff is a respiratory therapist who showed great commitment to his patients and willingness to collaborate with the nursing team. I am a new nurse and Josh was readily available to help me with several patients last night that were headed into trouble. There were several experienced nurses who didn't hesitate to jump in and help out as well. Josh was a great help to me with assessing and meeting the respiratory needs of those patients. I would have felt lost without his expertise and quick action. Thank you, Josh!

On October 22, 2020, Carilion Clinic's Education & Organizational Development Department was recognized by Roanoke County Public Schools & the Commonwealth of Virginia Department of Education for its collaboration efforts with RCPS. Carilion Clinic was nominated by RCPS and selected as the Region 6 winner of the 2020 Creating Excellence Business Partnership Award. The creating excellence awards are presented annually to recognize exemplary programs and partnerships that promote excellence in career and technical education.
