CNRV Supports Ronald McDonald House

If you have been to CNRV in the last few years you have likely noticed the large red house for collecting aluminum can tabs for the Ronald McDonald House.  It was built and installed at the suggestion of a Carilion employee and is offered as a collection point for staff and community members.  Last week, with the support Carilion Clinic Police Department and CNRV Maintenance, we did our second clean out – and CNRV collected 234.4 POUNDS of tab tops!  The tabs were boxed and taken to the Ronald McDonald House in Roanoke.  From there they will be recycled, and proceeds will be used to support the Ronald McDonald House.   

To date: CNRV has collected and donated 452.2 POUNDS of tab tops!

Next Steps:  A local contractor heard of the project and has generously offered to donate the materials and National Association of Women in Construction has offered to build collection houses for all our hospitals!  We hope to get construction underway before the end of the year and start implementing soon.
