I'd like to send a WOW out to the Pharmacy Supply staff.  Not only do we handle the majority of medication distribution to all the hospitals and clinics but the flu vaccine as well.  This year we had the Covid-19 vaccine added to our plates.  These ladies handled it with care and dedication.  As the one male in the group I view these women as sisters more than co-workers.  Each of them go above and beyond to provide for the communities we serve, so when the holidays come around we get to let our hair down (not me, I'm the bald one) and have a little fun.&n

While Christmas was very different for everyone this year in regard to the normal festivities that we try to do as departments.  I wanted to share that our group came up with some really great ideas for this year.  We were able to have a couple of games that staff could participate in while staying socially distant such as intercom BINGO (huge hit) and then guess the baby.  The baby pictures were a huge hit and everyone really enjoyed playing.  A big thank you to those that helped to coordinate our fun activities!  Merry Christmas to the North Roanoke Family Practic

The OBOT (office-based opioid treatment) team in the Dept of Psychiatry deserves a BIG WOW!!!  A recently completed Quality Improvement Retention Study (led by Dr. Shuo Qui) revealed great results by this hardworking team, who has seen a doubling in services growth since 2019 -- the best news is that a key measure of program quality (12 month retention rate) exceeds most other programs in the country as revealed at the recent AAAP (Association of American Addiction Psychiatry) conference held this past weekend:  70% compared to a more typical 40-50%.

I would like to recognize Misty Flinchum, Ashley Bossard, Whitney DeLong, and Adam Baber of the Center for Simulation, Research, and Patient Safety, for their tireless work and collaboration to submit for accreditation of our Simulation Lab to the Society for Simulation in Healthcare. This has been no small task and has been handled with grace and professionalism in light of still maintaining their daily work and during the challenges of a pandemic. Well done to all!!

as their incredible teamwork and attention to detail prevented a CT from being conducted on a patient that had the CT ordered incorrectly in their chart.

Just wanted to give a shout out to Ms. Kendal Lillard for helping to make sure that everyone gets to their job safely when we are having car troubles/need a ride to work. I am happy to be apart of this team. You are appreciated! <3

We are blessed to have Summer as our own chaos coordinator at CSJH. She arranged five transports before Noon on a Friday, mostly out of town. Thanks for all you do.
