Last Friday Sarah Nathan and Valeria Mateiciuc did very fast turnovers in OR. We were able to get all the ad on cases done fast. These girl are very efficient! It was a pleasure working with them.Thank you.

Bennie Kowalski and his team recently expanded their services to include recovery of cardiac cath patients.  Many of the cardiac cath patients that CVI PACU has recovered are STEMI patients who are waiting for ICU beds.  The collaboration of the CVI PACU team has made it possible for cardiac cath cases to continue without interruption and for the cath lab call team to be available for additional STEMI patients.  CVI PACU, these are some quotes from your very grateful Cath Lab neighbors:

I just completed my night float month on inpatient psychiatry. Night float can be a tough month as a PGY-2 managing every emergent and non-emergent cross-cover call and new admissions (children and adolescents + their accompanying parent interviews, adults, COVID PEMU patients, etc).  It's not uncommon to feel like your hair's on fire, especially if you're trying to manage it all yourself. Thankfully, I had immense support from every overnight nurse, ancillary staff member, and security guard - they're quality professionals: smart, kind, diligent.

Pre-hospital emergencies require excellent teamwork and communication in addition to ingenuity, as the environment is unpredictable. The team at Southeast Family Practice provided lifesaving care to a patient who had cardiac arrest in a car in the parking lot of the clinic. Together, each member of the team provided timely and expert care and were able to safely transitioned the patient to a higher level of care. Team member Angel Johnson CMA, first on the scene, recognized and escalated swiftly; involving Dr. Werner who without delay, initiated CPR, Dr.

We had a very busy weekend with our recent snowfall event and despite the challenges of staffing, mixed with patient acuity, staff felt like they came out ahead. I sent all of those that worked this weekend a thank you for hanging in there and pulling together. The following is what they sent back not only to me but to each other:

Isaac Dailey, EEG Tech, went above and beyond to make a patient more comfortable and help out nursing staff without even being asked. He was quick to see an issue that needed to be addressed and did so. Isaac painted the perfect picture of collaborative care and teamwork.
