The Compliance Operations Team recently volunteered in support of the “Let’s Give Lunch” initiative, sponsored by North Roanoke Baptist Church. This effort benefits the Meals on Wheels and Nutrition Services Program. Team members participated by boxing lunches and delivering them to various businesses and individuals who purchased meals in support of this local charity effort.
I want to give a shout out to the entire CVI team for the successful move to the CST. Everyone in CVI worked together to facilitate this move without the need to delay any procedures while also moving the CVI patient units. I especially want to recognize the leaders who were essential to the success of this move. All of the Unit Directors, Managers, and CTLs went above and beyond during the move to make sure the patients continued to receive the level of care that they deserve. In addition, I would like to recognize the CVI Senior Leadership--Marguerite Underwood, VP, Sarah Henshaw-Sr.
In honor of Nursing Assistant week the CRMH Ancillary Council celebrated by accepting nominations for "Nursing Support Care Team Member of the Year", "Hero of the Night", "Patient Care Team Lead of the Year", and "Rookie of the Year". We had so many amazing nominations, but the team selected the below winners who were surprised with a plaque and a gift by members of the committee. All of these individuals make such an impact each and every day on our patients and on their teams, so thankful to have such amazing co-workers caring for our patients!
I want to give a huge, heartfelt thank you to the Cupid/Radiant team—some of the hardest-working, most dedicated people I’ve ever had the privilege to work with.
Congratulations to Beth Polk, MD who has been named recipient of the 2025 Virginia Academy of Family Physicians James P.
Jennifer Lucas supports Carilion orthopaedics as an advice line nurse. Jennifer received a call from a post operative patient that was primarily concerned that they may have a UTI. While doing an assessment Jennifer noticed it sounded as if the patient was in respiratory distress. She targeted her assessment and began to ask focused questions although the patient's continued concerns were focused on the urinary symptoms reported. Jennifer recommended the patient be seen at the emergency department urgently.
Congratulations to Maimuna Jatta, MSN, RN, CIC, CPHQ, FAPIC for two outstanding achievements!
