I wanted to take a moment to share a wonderful example of teamwork and dedication that happened today. One of our providers experienced a tire blowout on their way to work, which could have been quite a stressful and time-consuming situation. However, our incredible facilities team didn't hesitate for a moment when asked if there was any way we could assist in getting their tire changed and car delivered to work.

I want to extend a huge thank‑you to our Maintenance team for their outstanding work during the recent snow event. These guys put in 20+ hours of overtime, working around the clock to keep the Riverside complex clear, safe, and fully accessible. Their dedication showed Riverside looked better than any other property in the area, and that’s a direct reflection of their commitment, skill, and teamwork.

Excellent job, everyone. Your hard work truly stood out and made a difference.

This past weekend, CNRV had lots of snow, winds, and drifting snow. Our maintenance department made sure the sidewalks were cleared for staff as well as working on the parking lots. They spent so much time here over the weekend and in the cold!! Thank you for all that you do to keep us safe!!

Great job by all of our CCPT teams for getting our patients transported safely during Winter Storm Fern.  Although there were some delays, we transported more than 40 emergent/urgent patients while the storm was passing through.  Following the storm, many residences were inaccessible due to severe icing causing transport delays.  Not to be deterred, CCPT crews and leadership went out to some of the residences and worked throughout the day to make driveways, sidewalks, and ramps safe.  These above-and-beyond efforts helped multiple patients get home.

I want to shout out Chelsea Hopkins LPN for quickly identifying a fellow employee who was experiencing cardiac symptoms. She quickly called for help and was able to get the employee transferred for emergency service. That is commitment to amazing care in EVERY setting! Great job, Chelsea! 

I wanted to recognize some incredible Neurodiagnostics Techs for their amazing Teamwork and Compassion this past week during the snow/ice emergency event.  Haley Mundy and Brittney Arrington walked to work for their shifts.  Isaac Dailey got stuck on the way into work, left his vehicle and walked another 2 miles to work.  Jason Reed also got stuck on his way into work for his night shift and walked the rest of the way to the hospital.

I'm certain there are many who helped "uber" team members this week to ensure we were able to take care of our patients, but I wanted to "wow" and highlight two that I know of! Chris Blake and Lindsey Woods made multiple trips, multiple times this week to help when team members were stuck or unable to drive. I can only choose one Carilion Value, but this type of service shows their overwhelming compassion, courage, and collaboration as well as their commitment to each other and our patients! I'm grateful to work with them!
