Going the extra mile

Submitted by klenviel on

I wanted to personally thank Adrian Wilson for offering to pick up staff that were unable to make it to work during the snow storm on Monday.  He really showed a lot of commitment to our team by safely helping staff get to work today.  I really appreciate him for going the extra mile, or several miles!

Snow Storm Heroes

During the recent snowstorm, you all truly showed what commitment, teamwork, and compassion look like. Despite challenging conditions, you showed up, supported one another, and continued to provide excellent, patient-centered care when our patients needed it most. Your dedication did not go unnoticed, and we are incredibly grateful for each and every one of you.

Snow, Sleet, and Ice… Oh My!

A huge thank you to our Facilities teams across the Carilion sites who worked through a tough and unforgiving winter weather event.

This storm wasn’t a clean snowfall — it was heavy, mixed precipitation with sleet, which is one of the hardest conditions to manage. The weight of the precipitation made removal very challenging. Despite that, our teams stayed after it — plowing, pushing, salting, troubleshooting equipment, and adapting in real time to keep our campuses accessible and safe.
