Last week the ED Observation Unit launched an emergency expansion plan to help with the hospital's adult capacity limitations. In less than a weeks notice, the ED Observation team took over 8 additional adult beds to manage each day. This past week was a busy one for the ED observation team, but with great teamwork and dedication, this group has continued to thrive. Keep up the hard work. Your efforts are making a difference.

I would like to give recognition to The COVID Exposure Team (CET). They have worked tirelessly, behind the scenes to keep our staff and patients safe. This team has gone above and beyond to meet the ever- growing demands of COVID. The implementation of Antigen testing recently went live for the system. This was a new process and major undertaking for the team, however, they quickly adapted and modified workflows to make this process as fluid and efficient as possible.

Lauren Witcher has been a float in our clinic this week while both of our usual HAAs are out of the office. Lauren has been extremely helpful and vital to making our clinic operate. Lauren is quick to help others, whether its our Staff or our patients and has shown so much commitment to providing the best possible experience. This week cannot have been easy for her but she has taken it all in strive with a positive attitude.  Don't know how we would have made it through the week without her.

This is a note of recognition for Donna Shelor, PharmD, Emily Rogers CPhT, and Rob Chrisley from CNRV’s inpatient pharmacy and facilities teams.  Very early on the morning of January 6th, the new ultra-low temperature freezer at CNRV, holding over 500 doses of the Pfizer COVID-19 vaccine, stopped working.  The vaccine’s shelf life would be only 5 days if it didn’t stay below -60ºC and Donna and Emily worked to ensure that the vaccine was kept cold.  They learned there was another ultra-low freezer in the hospital and quickly transferred the vials in some dry
