Thanks for all you do for us and our patient's

Ann Greer , went out of her way to deliver oral contrast to a patient that did not have a way to pick it up.  This kept the patient from coming in 2 hours early to sit here and drink.  This allowed the patient to have the study she needed.  Thank you for all the work you do.  From the CT Staff at Riverside 3.

Mike Holland committed to our Core Values

Submitted by TBLutz on

Mike works for EVS and was paged to do a discharge room clean Friday by a teletracking error. The patient was only off the floor for a procedure and our unit EVS employee was making his daily rounds already. We advised Mike that the page was a mistake and he cleaned the room anyway. He also went the extra mile and gave the returning patient something to smile about. Thanks for all you do Mike, 10 Mtn ICU and our patient's appreciate you!

TSG making return to Carilion smooth

Submitted by dknightingale on

As a returning employee there have been a few hiccups along the way ironing out my access across the multiple platforms needed to be successful in my new position.  I have had to request assistance fro TSG about a dozen times over the course of a couple weeks and have had an excellent experience every time.  Thank you TSG for helping me feel welcomed back to Carilion!

Guest Service Super Stars

I would like to give a big shout out to the following employees Candice Underwood, Kathy Smith, and Ed Cordell.

Even though Candice was hired for 6 South she is constantly helping the lobby team out downstairs. She fills in when we are short staffed, she checks on us in the afternoons to see if we are ok. She even makes armbands for the screeners. The best part of all is that she does all of this of her own volition without even having to be asked. Candice you commitment is unwavering and we could all take a page from your book. Thank you, thank you, thank you!

Thank you Violet Pollock!

Please join me in saying Congratulations to Violet Pollock, Pharmacy Tech III 💜 as she receives the CFMH Great Catch award for May. Violet was instrumental and diligent in her recent work with the crash carts and malignant hyperthermia cart. She discovered several Key changes that needed to be updated in both projects. Her attention to detail and effort while conducting monthly floor inspections has proven very helpful in keeping our patient's safe. Thank you Violet!! We appreciate you so much.

Above and beyond for hearing impaired patient

Submitted by mksharp on

Today I had a patient in the office who is very hard of hearing that needed imaging completed. This patient was unable to call pre-registration and did not have any support person available. I took my patient to the guest services desk for assistance, in hopes of finding a solution. Thankfully, I found Thomas Stinnett. He took it upon himself to make sure this patient was taken care of. Thomas made several calls that did not produce any resolution for the patient, but that didn't stop him.

Barbara Worrell celebrates 45 years of service. Wow!

Submitted by lfdudley on

Barbara Worrell started at CFMH right out of high school. In fact,  the day she graduated she came to work... that was in 1976. Today she continues to be a dependable and great co worker who has an extra compassion for elderly people. She can be seen talking to patients and explaining to them what to expect right from the start of their visit to the hospital. Congratulations Barbara on your years of service today June 10th 2021!
