Congratulations to our own Dr. Ellen Harvey for being recognized by ANCC Magnet as Nurse of the Year for 2021 in Empirical Outcomes. On November 12, Dr. Harvey accepted this honor at the 2021 ANCC Magnet Conference in Atlanta, GA. Ellen was recognized for her (and her teams) work on developing an evidence-based protocol to reduce the rate of infection for patients with external ventricular drains (EVD). Use of the evidence-based care bundle has reduced EVD related infections to zero! Kudo's to Ellen and her team!!!

8 Mountain ICU cares for our patients AND our planet!

Submitted by mcsotelo on

If you’ve walked alongside the Riverwalk Parking Garage at CRMH recently, you may have noticed a new bench! The bench was obtained through 8 Mountain ICU’s participation in the Trex Soft Plastics Recycling program. The unit worked together to collect 500 pounds of soft plastics (supply packaging, bed covers, etc.) that was then recycled.

Submitted by ewalton on

For nurse practitioner appreciation week, Fort Defiance Family Medicine celebrated our FNP, Samuel Arnold. Sam has been at our clinic for about 7 years. He is so fun to work with and brings the best energy to the clinic. To show our appreciation, we gifted our NP/Fisherman a tumbler that says "Reel Great NP" with a fishing pole and fish included and a thank you card with kind words from all of the staff.

Thank you for all you do, Sam!
