This year Amanda Trenar and Melissa Dickerson created a handmade fireplace and decorated a beautiful tree that has caught the eye of many. Child Health Investment Partnership (CHIP) changes the lives of underserved children and their families. Each year, CHIP places an Angel Tree at Carilion Wellness Roanoke with numerous ornaments of different children's toys written on them. Shout out to the Clinical Advancement and Patient Safety Department (CAPS) for spreading Christmas cheer this year. Their team rallied together and purchased every item listed on the tree and delivered them last week! I know they are making a difference in these children's lives and we are so grateful! Happy Holidays!
The delicate, battery-powered lights blink along the cord that has been strategically snaked through the poinsettia plant. Giant, red velvet bows anchor the green garland draped along the ceiling arches. And the large wreaths decorated with red and gold ornaments coordinate perfectly with the red and gold ornaments on the Lights of Love tree.
I would like to recognize CT Technologist Lisa Sutliff and X-ray Technologist Tammy Stultz who work at Daleville Family Medicine for their excellent teamwork during an emergent situation. A patient developed trouble breathing during a CT scan so Lisa yelled for help. Tammy responded immediately and went to get staff to help with the emergency. It is especially important that staff work together at the outpatient centers as with the staffing challenges, these are the areas staff is first pulled from to support the hospital. Kudos to your teamwork!

Last night our Imaging department took on an influx of patients and Natalie Wickstrum selflessly came back in for several hours to get our patients taken care of in a timely manner. We had about 20 exams pending at once with only 2 techs! She relieved a ton of stress off our shoulders and even put in a ticket for a broken detector. All in the same day, I also witnessed her helping an elderly patient set up a booster vaccine in-between patients. The patient had no online access or family to help her. What a compassionate act of service this was to keep our patient safe and healthy!
