On a busy night in the ED at CRBH, Frank Mitchen of EVS noted that a computer screen in a patient room was showing information other than a screen saver. Frank immediately approached the clinical staff to remedy this before there was any inadvertent privacy violations. Way to show commitment to providing the best environment for patient safety and privacy Frank! We appreciate you!
I had the privilege to speak with Allison Reynolds with CVI Informatics team today related to issues with uploading imaging for a patient consultation. She was so helpful and accommodating in trying to ensure this patient and their providers will be able to have the imaging available. Allison, thank you for going above and beyond!!

Recently, 8S Radius welcomed a former patient who returned to visit the team. During their hospitalization, the patient faced significant challenges, and staff went above and beyond to provide the care and support needed for a successful discharge.
Macy was recognized by Children's Miracle Network and received the US award for highest year-over-year fundraising increase (43.3%) on behalf of Carilion Clinic. So proud of Macy and her dedication to Carilion Childrens Hospital and commitment to improving the lives of the children and families we serve.
Autumn in PACU listened to her gut and held a patient that was having low oxygen saturation after narcotics administration for pain postoperatively. thanks so much!!!
Casey, through astute assessment and strong advocacy, she identified early signs of patient decompensation on two separate occasions, including rising lactic acid, sepsis indicators, and increasing abdominal distress. She persistently sought appropriate critical care consultation following a level-of-care upgrade, resulting in timely interventions that may otherwise have been delayed. Her actions likely prevented further clinical decline and demonstrate exceptional clinical judgment and commitment to patient safety.
