Tapera Baidon is a valued member of the team here at CRMH Inpatient Psychiatry. He is the epitome of professionalism, and he is a joy to work with. Not even cancer and chemotherapy could keep this man down. Here are some of the wonderful things his coworkers have to say about him:

Thanks to the teamwork and sheer awesomeness of Carilion RMH's IR team, they fixed a problem that enabled a patient to be able to make a medical flight, out of state, with time to spare! Shout out to the whole team for being so willing to serve our community with unwavering Commitment! Treasa Rigney, the volunteer coordinator for Carilion Clinic's NRV Hospice has a huge heart for veterans. She was integral to our hospice being the first in Virginia to achieve Level V status of the We Honor Veterans program. Treasa continues to work to keep that status and to ensure our team is educated about the military, veterans, and how being a veteran can impact end-of-life care. We have recently increased our GIP program to include 3 area hospitals. GIP patients are typically very close to death. We sometimes only have a few minutes or hours to care for them.

Kathy Oakley, Director of Employee Health for CMC and NRV is celebrating 40 years of service with Carilion Clinic.  Kathy is a hard working, dedicated and go to person for all things EH.  She truly loves to work with employees and be an advocate for their health and well being.  She is always available to answer questions, to attend a meeting, to solve a problem or work to find a better way.  I have known Kathy for many years and it's a joy and pleasure to work with her and to learn from her.   If you happen to see Kathy today, wish her well and congratulate he

Congratulations to Alicia Meadows for winning the Summer 2022 VISION award!  Alicia's peers nominated her for the awarding, citing the following exemplary display of Carilion values and VISION:

Today we recognize Bryce Graves for his Situational Monitoring and intervention for a patient that had been stable for discharge and was waiting for transport.

Bryce noticed that the patient had developed a rapid heart rate and called for the provider to come assess the patient before she left the facility.

His awareness of the patient’s status even after discharge allowed her to be reassessed and treated appropriately.

CTCH would like to recognize this "Firecracker" of an employee.  Sandy Hess works very hard to ensure that our hospital is spic and span for our patients and employees.  She always does it with a smile and a lending hand.  Her commitment and pride in her job and to our hospital shows everyday but July 4th is an extra special day because it is her birthday!  We want to wish our little "firecracker" a very HaPpY BiRtHdAy and to thank her for her commitment and pride!

Sarah Ballard and Josh Dailey were returning from an out-of-town trip and volunteered to be held over their shift to get a hospice patient discharged back home.  Thank you both for your commitment to our patients and the community in which we serve. 

Henry Patterson and Dean Rakes of the Maintenance Department at CFMH came to my rescue on June 25, 2022 at the Pigg River Community Center in Franklin County. 

They transported and set up a tent, table, chairs and other equipment the Community Health and Outreach Dept. needed to check blood pressures and blood sugars on the attendees. ( And it was only 900 degrees outside!.)
