CRBH would like to recognize Deneen Davis, RN (CRBH Director M/S & ICU) for her efforts to ensure a patient's husband remained safe while his wife endured a surgical procedure.  Deneen discovered that the patient is the primary caregiver for her husband, and that the husband would not be able to adequately care for himself during his wife's procedure, and during her recovery.  Deneen took the initiative and made sure that the patient's husband was well taken care of this morning, while also making multiple phone calls to family members to ensure that someone could come and pro

I am pleased to report that the Carilion Roanoke Memorial Hospital and the Bariatric and Metabolic Program has once again been formally approved as a Comprehensive Center of Excellence in Bariatric Surgery, the highest tier achievable. Dr. David Salzberg has been recognized as a COE Verified Surgeon in Bariatric Surgery by the American Society of Bariatric and Metabolic Surgeons and the American College of Surgeons.

Chrystal is an essential part of the Clinical Advancement and Patient Safety Team! She leads our Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services quality reporting to ensure we are meeting regulatory requirements by working with an external vendor for data collection. Chrystal discovered a technology glitch with our external vendor platform and reported the issue immediately. She has worked diligently for a few months with their technology teams to develop a solution and ensure accurate reporting for our Carilion Clinic facilities.

Erin Cunningham (and many others) is changing work shifts, working long hours, and going above and beyond to do what they can to assist with staffing challenges throughout Patient Access and it is very appreciated! It is amazing to see a Team Lead support her Team- and additional areas with such dedication! You make me proud- and Carilion is lucky to have you! Thank you for ALL you do! Roberta Smith PTA at Carilion's Inpatient Rehabilitation unit came in on her day off with her daughter Macy to make St. Patrick's Day special for the patients on our unit.  Roberta has been with Carilion for 26 years and is known for celebrating holidays and special occasions with patients and staff, as well as sacrificing her personal time away from work to help others.  She is consistently a great example of Carilion's values in our organization.  Thank you Roberta!

Phyllis Dalton, RN demonstrated her keen skill and senses when she discovered a medication order error on one of our patients. This GREAT CATCH prevented this potential medication error from reaching the patient. Thank you, Phyllis!

Trisha Richardson demonstrates commitment to her patients and job. She always responds or will find out answers. She goes above and beyond. Her and Susan Pack are just awesome. Thank you for always being patient centered and always having me laughing! 

Join me in celebrating Belinda Ashby's 10 year anniversary with Carilion Clinic.  March 25, 2023 will mark Belinda's 10th year of service as an outpatient pharmacist for Carilion Clinic.  She has provided steadfast service for our outpatient locations at CNRV, RMH, Riverside III, and MCP.  If you see her, give her a shout out!

CGCH was recently recognized by the Infection Control and the CAUTI Stewardship Committee for 4 consecutive years of no catheter associated infections.  Dr. Izzy Pines was awarded the CAUTI champion award for her efforts to remove catheters as soon as feasible.  This is an amazing accomplishment and we are so proud of our amazing staff!
