Vicki pulled a unit dose cup of guaifenesin with dextromethorphan from Pyxis and noticed that it would not let her use a partial dose of the medication. She questioned the pharmacist which prompted the pharmacy staff to investigate why the medication would not let her use a partial dose. Vicki's question helped the pharmacy identify that the incorrect med (an oral solution and not a syrup) had been sent from pharmacy supply.

Jennifer walked into a department on the weekend to check linen and smelt something burning. Instead of going on her way Jennifer investigated and found it was the coffee pot still on and the coffee had burned out of it. If gone undetected this could have resulted in a fire. Thanks Jennifer for taking time to investigate a smell that was not normal.

Congratulations to Danielle Ogle, DNP for receiving her DNP from Purdue Global! This is a wonderful accomplishment, and we are so happy for you! Congratulations from the Family and Community Medicine family!

Congratulations to Sandy as she presented her research at Oschner's 14th Annual Evidence-Based Practice and Nursing Research conference in New Orleans! Sandy's research was related to work related anxiety in the intensive care setting and aromatherapy. Please help me in celebrating Sandy on her accomplishment and representing our organization so well!

Congratulations to Tanya Trevilian, CRMH's Pediatric Trauma Program Coordinator on being selected to participate in the Pediatric Pandemic Network Scholars Program!  Tanya is one of six individuals (and the only nurse) to be selected to take part.  The program, supported by the Health Resources and Services Administration (HRSA), is a one-year appointment.  She will participate in research, quality improvement, and other scholarly activities as well as complete an individual project related to pediatric disaster management.

Thanks to Emily who is the most thorough scribe I have ever had the pleasure of working with.  She is a masterful EPIC detective and was able to teach me a few things this weekend.   I know she will excel in medical school and be a huge asset to our psychiatry community in the future.  Thankful to have scribe support in our weekend ED psychiatry team.  Thanks to leadership for supporting our providers in this way.
