I THINK THAT TERRY P. NICKERSON IS A FINE DOCTOR!  TALK ABOUT A GUY THAT WOULD GIVE YOU THE SHIRT OFF THEIR BACK... WELL HE DID. THEY HAD JUST TRANSPORTED ME IN A GOWN, BUT THAT WAS NOT GOING TO DO... NO NO NO, HE HAD HIS NURSE GRAB HIM SOME OF HIS SCRUBS 
AND HIS NURSE (NATALIE) GOT THEM FOR ME...YOU SEE,  I AM A PATIENT,  JEREMY  IN MY EXPERIENCE,  HE HAS ALWAYS BATTED 100/100...

A huge thank you to Jen Shrewsbury our CTL for the egg hunt today!  We were all a bit disappointed this week after we were unable to find any of the eggs that were advertised on flyers that would be hidden in the building.  She heard staff discussion and took it upon herself to buy eggs and fill them with candy and hide them in multiple area of our department this morning!  It was so much fun and really made all of us smile.  Thank you for doing this for the staff, it was so thoughtful and brightened our day after a long week:)

Congratulations to Dr. Jason Foerst and the structural heart team in the CRMH Cardiac Catheterization Lab for performing the region’s first tricuspid valve replacement.  This groundbreaking, minimally invasive procedure offers a treatment option for patients with severe tricuspid regurgitation by replacing the tricuspid valve without the need for open heart surgery--  resulting in quicker recovery times and reduced risk of complications.

The climb up the ladder of success can sometimes come with a loss of self. Carl Cline, our administrator at CFMH and a fellow nurse, is more than just a title, more than just an important man in our organization. We witnessed him today in a very fine suit taking the time to stop by a patient's room and help feed her and keep her company. Then, as always, he made his way to all of us nurses to ask if we needed anything. He truly lives up to what he always says to others: "Just be kind."

I would like to take a moment to recognize Susan Epperly. She always goes above and beyond to help others, both staff and patients, in any way that she can. She is by far the most compassionate person I have ever met or worked with. Susan's heart is the biggest of anyone I've ever known. Susan also helps by picking up extra shifts often and helps a lot within the resource pool, as well. Susan is the best example of the perfect nurse. I always look forward to the days that I am able to work with her. She brightens each shift.

CFMH Celebrates Lauren Price DAISY Award Winner

Delaney Garcia-Vega serves our children and families with kindness, compassion, and respect. She assists with insurance enrollment, transportation, deliveries of food and clothing, and appointment scheduling. We may be able to provide medical care to our vulnerable population, but Delaney is the true "healthcare hero" for going above-and-beyond for our families, always making sure the children/parents have everything they need long after they leave the clinic. She is a prime example of why every outpatient clinic should have a CHW available!  

Our anesthesia provider, Sean Hunter decided to make kiddos feel better about surgery.  He brought out the suit and made them smile.

I saw a baby bunny running across the street in front of a tractor trailer, it ran into the bushes outside of my office. I called the maintenance men to help--they came prepared with a bucket, towel and gloves got the bunny and relocated it to a safe place. Our maintenance men will always come to the rescue--even for wild animals. Thank you! 

For the month of March, the CFMH enrichment committee asked for donations. They used the donations to fill the Rotary club of Rocky Mount's "The Little Pantry" boxes that are placed around Franklin county for people in need. A special thank you to Betty Underwood for leading the Enrichment committee, also Nicole Harris and Joanna Mullins for making and decorating the wishing well.
