Last Saturday, the Life-Guard 12 crew volunteered their time with the Rockbridge Christmas Baskets program. This program has been supporting families in need with food and gifts for children since 1949. Kudos to Flight Paramedic Shane Watts for coordinating the team effort and also to Flight Nurse Miranda Landrum who coordinated a coat drive for the community as well!

On Sunday ED staff was very busy and didn't have time for lunch.  Sarah Watts (imaging technologist) went out and brought them a deli tray.  Thank you Sarah for thinking of others.

Hats off to Robin Czar, OTR/L, and Emily Dunbar, COTA who planned and carried out an amazing Christmas party for the pediatric rehab patients at CGCH.  This was the 4th consecutive year that these ladies have hosted this fun event for these children.  They go above and beyond to make this evening special with themed crafts, snacks, and photos. Also, thanks to Alicia VanHoozier, PTA and Merinda Williams who also contributed and participated in this meaningful party.

I wanted to recognize several of our staff at CSJH. Lindy Clark and Alva Black - ICU RN's who worked very hard to facilitate transportation for a patient who was left in an unfortunate situation and was unable to get back home to Georgia. They went above and beyond when they didn't have to and successfully made a safe discharge plan for the patient. Cindy Berry - RT stepped in as well to offer assistance with transportation. They definitely deserve recognition!  

A Big WOW to two employees, Michelle Harvey, OT & David Makin, PT inpatient at CGCH.

We had a lady that was a patient at CGCH for rehab, who did not have any family. She live in an Assisted Living (where my own mother lives). This Assisted Living has a Thanksgiving dinner for their residents plus two of their family members. On Nov 16th, while I was there with my own mother, saw Michelle and David and they were with the lady we had had at the hospital.  The lovely lady did not have any family of her own, so Michelle and David be came her foster children.

Working in Lexington office today and we had a patient getting XRs when he started complaining of not feeling well, chest pain and his jaw hurting. Carla had patient get on table and went to get help. Jeff ended up getting crash cart, triaging patient and asking for 911 to be called. Jeff worked with the patient until EMTs arrived. He was very soothing in the way he communicated with patient. Everyone in the office jumped in to see what they could do to help.

The team in the Lexington office is amazing in the way they work together.
