The staff from 8 Mountain ICU would like to generously thank the CCU nursing staff for their pure kindness and thoughtfulness. On Monday, CCU heard how busy our unit had been and sent our unit multiple boxes of pizza. This was such a wonderful, unexpected gift at the most perfect time. We were all extremely humbled by their sweet souls. Some of us were just purely speechless. We cannot thank you enough CCU, for thinking of us! We appreciate all of you.

I am new to Carilion and had training at RMH.  I was lost when I came in and asked for directions from one of the staff.  She was so generous to me she had a housekeeping  cart in tow but it did not slow her down.  She took me not only to the floor but all the way to the correct room to make sure I made it to the correct location.  This lady was beyond wonderful and friendly.  I hope everyone can learn of kindness with employees like her.  Her name is Amine Hale Environmental Services.  I would like her supervior Francis Karpeh to also know what a gre

Megan Martinez and Kristen Staton, Imaging Technologists from CSJH bought pizza for staff in the ED after realizing that no one in the ED department had time for lunch on Saturday. I'm so proud of these two that thought of others during a very busy and stressful day.

Bonnie Gusler, an EVS employee at CFMH goes above and beyond everyday to make sure our patients and visitors are treated with great respect and goes out of her way to help anyone she can. A visitor came to our facility and had mud all over their shoes. Bonnie sit the visitor down in a chair and cleaned their shoes so he would not be worried about tracking mud in the hospital. Bonnie is a heart giving person who believes in taking care of one and all.

New year, new outreach and Mother/Baby challenges you and your unit! 12 South (Mother/Baby) and their POD (Planning, Organizing, and Decorating) committee believe in coming together to make a difference and better our community. That's why for months, Mother/Baby has been completing monthly fundraisers/drives to give back to those in need around us. Our February project was collecting items for SARA Roanoke. SARA Roanoke is an amazing organization that provides resources and support for sexual assault victims in our area.

NA Christina Collins (CC) donated 26 pairs of new shoes to the In Patient Rehabilitation unit's shoe drive. We often have patients that do not have proper shoes available for participating in therapy. This is an amazing example of Carilion values in action. Thank you CC for caring for your patients!

The Imaging department at CFMH has a new bulletin board, created by Angie Shively.  This bulletin board allows our team to post thank-yous, Kudos, a job well done, or any type of recognition for team members going above and beyond, plus being kind to one another and our patients.  This promotes teamwork and employee engagement, plus aligns with our Compassion value.

Thank You so  much for your help when my family was sick.  I am in healthcare as well and I know how uplifting it can be when someone gives you a shout out when you do your best to help others, so this is a SHOUT OUT  to Angela.   Me and my family rarely get sick and wait to absolutely necessary to go to the doctor, when we do get sick we try to bare with it and let it pass because all to often we go to the doctor and no one will give you medication to help.   But last week my husband and daughter had been sick for quite some time and seen Angela R.
