The Care Coordinators (Evolent) with the help of the Police/Security at CRMH collected food for the Local Office on Aging "Soup for Seniors".   Millions of seniors in our nation live at or below the poverty line.  This effort will help provide a hot meal on a cold day and remind thousands of seniors that the community has not forgotten them.

Jefferson College of Health Sciences has been named a 2019-20 Military Friendly® School by VIQTORY, the leader in successfully connecting the military and civilian worlds, and publisher of G.I. Jobs® magazine. This is the seventh consecutive year Jefferson College has received this recognition.

Sonya Charlow, Kim Gonce, Rob Way, Tamika Rickman, Hayley Ohl, Amber Hayden, Deidre Wilkes and Sandi Meadows volunteered at the RAM House located on Campbell Avenue  Tuesday, January 22, 2019.  Inspired by Dr. Martin Luther King's quote, "Life's most persistent and urgent question is, 'What are you doing for others?", the group from HR spent half of the day preparing and serving the meal. 

The employees of Carilion Tazewell Community Hospital recently participated in a "Winter Coat Drive" and collected a total of 67 coats plus several hats, gloves and scarves, which were donated to a local organization (Labor of Love) for distribution to those in need in our community.  Thanks to our staff many people will now stay warm in the winter weather still to come!.

Code Kringle was another success thanks to the hard work of numerous Carilion teams. Hundreds of toys and bears were collected and delivered (by Santa, Mrs. Claus and their elves) to children on the adolescent psychiatric unit.

She Deserves a WOW! Today 12/31/18 at around 1740 Lisa Hall from environmental services came to clean bay 3 in the Vascular PACU. She did a fantastic job and worked around the recovery room patients to ensure there privacy. She helped the curtain change guy with changing curtains and even stated "I don't mind helping you do this". She then over heard us talking on the phone with our on call person about a dirt bed that was left to be cleaned. If this room was able to be cleaned we would not need our on call staff to come in.

We would like to send a special shout out to Carilion PD officer, Mark Gilbert, who went above and beyond and personally brought in toys to hand out on Christmas Eve and Day. No one wants to be in the emergency room during the holidays, but Officer Gilbert was able to bring smiles to many pediatric patient's faces. Thank you officer Santa!

PCU worked hard to bless our Pediatric unit with tons of Christmas gifts!  They made their Christmas tree out of wrapped gifts and then kindly donated them for us to give to our kids.  Each gift is wrapped and labeled with item and age so they can be matched for the right patient or parent.  Our little girl who received the huge stuffed white unicorn was very happy!   We will be able to share these gifts throughout the year.   Thank you so much PCU!

Tis’ the season for sharing with friends and neighbors! Carilion Clinic Dermatology and Mohs Surgery aesthetic services recently donated a basket of gloMinerals makeup and brushes, valued at $1000, to residents at Bethany Hall, a residential substance abuse treatment program that provides a second chance for local women.
