Congratulations to Michelle Diehl and Lisa Dmochowski for making a difference for Hollins University Students

Submitted by cmbutt on

Michelle Diehl Mental Health Therapist and Michelle Dmochowski RN Practice Supervisor, both of the Carilion Hollins Student Health and Mental Health Center collaborated to create a Sensory Trail in the Hollins Gardens. This trail was a walk through the gardens with calming music and tables that stimulate the different senses. One student stopped to say that she did not take time to stop and just take in nature. It was a relaxing and calming atmosphere to walk and just breathe. A great job of Carilion collaboration to help the students at Hollins University.

Thank you Leslie for coming through for me again! You may be all the way over at Franklin but you are proof that we can still engage in successful collaboration to deliver a spectacular patient outcome! You provided the necessary info to secure insurance authorization for a very complex and difficult case. You are and always have been the ultimate bombdiggity!

On Sunday, October 1st, Carilion Clinic Cardiovascular Institute staff played in a 9-ing softball game against Lewis Gale Hospital. This fundraiser has been an annual game, with a pause with COVID. In 2023 we had it returned to Salem Red Sox's field! Both hospitals came together to spread heart and stroke disease awareness in the community while raising money for the American Heart Association.

Big Thanks to Shari Jones!

We had several RCH patients that needed stat CT scans this weekend, and Shari has made the process seamless! It's super appreciated as it can be logistically challenging getting patients over to RMH, and she has been a CHAMP at communication and very positive in every interaction. Thank you, Shari!
