I wanted to give a shout out to Frank Ortiz with our Payroll department. I put in a request related to my paycheck this morning. He responded in record time and took care of the change I needed right away!

The service provided by this department is second to none, in my opinion.

Five offices earned GOLD level Greening the Office Certification for 2023 – congratulations! These departments demonstrated a commitment to integrating sustainability practices into their daily work. To apply, departments must complete a robust application that asks for information and examples on how the office is promoting sustainability in the following categories: Energy, Air & Water, Waste & Recycling, Transportation, & Employee Engagement. Offices achieve either Silver or Gold level certification depending on their score.

I wanted to give a big thank you to Roxie Lyle for answering my questions and telling me it's OK if I have 100. You are a gem and I appreciate you. 

Montana Adkins, Infusion Nurse at CFMH was nominated by a co-worker for catching that a necessary filter for a patient's upcoming treatment was not in stock at our facility. Montana worked with pharmacy staff to make sure the filter was available for the patient's treatment and there was no delay in her patient's care. Thank you, Montana!

I want to give a shout-out to Brandon Newcomb CTL CPEP and the CPEP team for working tirelessly on a very complex placement. Case Management was happy to collaborate with CPEP to help get this done! Great job! 

I would just like to take a moment and recognize the entire ED dept including the front desk staff, day and night shift. I am a Carilion employee and a previous inpatient worker, but this past Friday night I was a patient. When arriving to the ED, as expected it was very busy. There were no rooms and it seemed as if they were at max capacity. Every staff member that I encountered was in good spirits and had a smile on! Even with encountering several disgruntled patients.

Join me in extending heartfelt congratulations to Dr.Kelley and Dr. Lingle for their remarkable achievement in successfully performing the first pulmonary thrombectomy at Carilion New River Valley Medical Center. Their expertise and dedication have made a significant impact on advancing healthcare in our community.

Leaders from IHH Healthcare benchmarked CTAC last week.  IHH is a Asia based healthcare system with 83 hospitals across Asia and Europe.  The CTAC team impressed them with how they combine people, process, and technology to serve Carilion Clinic and our community.
